Faraan Rahim | Founder & CEO

Faraan Rahim is a Harvard medical student, global health researcher, and 2024 Samvid Scholar who is dedicated to advancing health systems in the United States and in sub-Saharan Africa. Fluent in Swahili, he has spent three years conducting research in Tanzania focused on implementation science methods to address cardiovascular disease. In addition, he is the Founder and CEO of GHSEN Global Research, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and international research network that connects researchers and global health leaders across the United States and nine African countries. Under Faraan’s leadership, GHSEN has published over 55 research articles, editorials, and op-eds on health systems strengthening and innovation in journals like BMJ and Nature Medicine. He has also helped secure over $75,000 in support of GHSEN’s initiatives, including a U.S. State Department-sponsored medical English program in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, and a research trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with 13 research fellows from across the United States.
