Alex was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. As a supplement to his undergraduate studies, Alex took part in a year-long federally funded scholarship program called Boren Awards, whereby he studied Kiswahili on a full-time basis in Arusha, Tanzania. A dedicated public servant, Alex has served in roles at the U.S. Department of Defense (National Defense University) and at the U.S. Department of Commerce (International Trade Administration). He currently lives outside of Washington, D.C., with his wife, Shruti.
